StudyScore AI ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to protecting your personal information and your privacy rights. This Privacy Policy applies to the StudyScore AI mobile application and web interface and describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of data.
1. Information We Collect
A. Student & Academic Information
When you use StudyScore AI to evaluate admissions fit, you may input:
- Academic Credentials: Field of study, degree pursued (Undergraduate, Master's, PhD), GPA, percentage, and intended intake year.
- Standardized Test Scores: IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo English Test, GRE, GMAT, or SAT/ACT scores.
- Preferences & Constraints: Target countries, annual tuition & living budget, and priority goals (e.g., low tuition, post-study work visa rights, university rankings, return on investment).
- Application Drafts: Statement of Purpose (SOP) texts or essays submitted into the AI review module.
B. In-App Purchase & Ledger Records
- Google Play Billing: In-app consumable credit purchases (such as
pack_1,pack_2,pack_3) are processed exclusively by the Google Play Store billing platform. We never collect or store your payment card numbers, bank accounts, or financial credentials. - Append-Only Ledger: We maintain a local, append-only record of transaction IDs, timestamps, credit amounts, and Google Play Order IDs for receipt verification and automated error refunds.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information strictly for:
- Calculating admissions fit, budget match, and post-study work visa suitability scores.
- Providing automated AI evaluations, scholarship recommendations, and Statement of Purpose critiques.
- Managing your credit balance and processing instant refunds when an AI service request fails or times out.
- Improving app performance and updating university admissions database criteria.
3. AI Processing & Third-Party Providers
To deliver real-time evaluations, profile snippets (such as GPA, target major, and essay drafts) are sent via encrypted HTTPS to third-party AI inference providers (such as DeepSeek and Google Gemini).
Data sent for AI processing is used solely to generate the requested analysis. Your submitted essays and Statements of Purpose are not used to train public AI foundation models without your explicit consent.
4. Data Storage & Local Retention
StudyScore AI is built on a local-first architecture. Your academic profile, university shortlists, custom notes, and transaction ledger are saved locally on your device (using browser localStorage / SQLite sandbox).
You can erase your data at any time by clearing the application data in your device settings or web browser storage. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or academic information to third-party advertisers or recruitment agencies.
5. Children's Privacy
StudyScore AI is intended for high school, college, and postgraduate students preparing for higher education. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
6. Security
We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption in transit and isolated local storage sandboxing on your device to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.
7. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to maintain compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and applicable data protection regulations. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
